Destroy, Scavenge, Adapt. Create your own Spaceship in Cosmoteer: Starship Architect and Commander Review

In this Review we will take a closer look at Cosmoteer: Starship Architect and Commander. This game will allow you to take your small ship in a huge space exploration mission. As you go you will defeat enemies and scavenge the remaining of their ships for materials. That in turn will allow you to upgrade your ship adding different modules and weapons.

You can play this game as a single-player campaign, as a sandbox or as an arena game, challenging other players in PvP. The choice is up to you, but it’s a good idea to start with the campaign to learn how different weapons work and learn the basic game mechanics.

Game world consists of a galaxy with multiple star systems divided by the danger level, which will guide your progression through them. Each star system holds several space stations, asteroid belts and some point of interest that might give you an edge on the enemy.

Space stations are hubs of your activity, you can get quests there, hire crew, trade resources and buy blueprints, that allow you to construct more modules and weapons on your ship. Also here you get rewards for your missions.

There are 3 main weapon types in Cosmoteer: Starship Architect.

1. Energy weapons (lasers, blasters, point defense, energy rays). Energy weapons do not require ammo, but they do lower damage then other types and consume more energy

2. Kinetic weapons (cannons, railguns) do significant damage and some aoe, but require ammunition.

3. Missile weapons, that do good splash damage, but are slow, require expensive missiles and can be shot down with point defense.

You can mix those weapons as you see fit for maximum efficiency, get enough power supply, add some modules, maybe a tracking beam, slap some armor to feel safe and go fly conquer the galaxy, challenging tougher and tougher enemies, upgrading in process.
